Specific Objectives

  • Act as the representative organ of indigenous and private protected nature areas to improve their ecological representation, management efficacy and financial sustainability.

  • Defend the interests of indigenous and private protected nature areas at the individual and general level before the State of Chile, other states, international organizations, non-government organizations y generally-related private entities.

  •  Be the informative organ of indigenous and private protected nature areas among themselves, before other actors, and the general public.

  • Strengthen the relations among indigenous and private protected nature areas and mediate the exchange of information, mutual support, and the creation of an internal forum to express the discontent of the members.

  • Promote the valuing of natural ecosystems, in all aspects related to biodiversity, cultural diversity, and ecosystem functions such as water regulation, carbon stability, genetic resources, maintenance of scenic beauty, generation of energy for sustainable development and the improvement of quality of life for all people.

  • Look after the uptake of and adequate disposition of contributions of economic, technical, and legal character made by national and international entities to the Association, with the end of conserving biodiversity and the natural resources of the conservation initiatives in indigenous and private protected nature areas.

  • Promote environmental education, training and consciousness in conservation matters, environmental impact, jurisprudence, management plans, protection and productivity of conservation initiatives in indigenous and private areas.

  • Foster and channel technical, legal, and economic advice for the development of conservation initiatives in indigenous and private areas, without excluding the help that can be offered to the reserves of other countries if so solicited.  

  • Define, promote, and supervise the compliance of ethical principles, relevant practice standards of creation, and good management of conservation initiatives in indigenous and private areas.

  • Effectively collaborate with all public, private, indigenous, national and international associations, organizations and institutions that work in favor of ecosystem conservation and community well-being

  • Support the incorporation and application of adequate management concepts in those parts dedicated to the sustainable use of resources in conservation initiatives in indigenous and private areas.

  • Contribute to the positioning of Chile as a key player in the support of conservation and sustainable development while also a ecotourism destination at the world level.

  • Develop programs or projects of judicial order tending to provide Chile with a legal system for conservation initiatives in indigenous and private areas, linked to a system of incentives.

  • Broadcast the distinct national and international norms about material that tends to the improvement and development of legal and administrative environmental institutionalism in Chile.

  • Promote the fortification of regional, provincial, commune or local associations of private owners that are members of Así Conserva Chile or could link with it.

  • Promote the incorporation of a form of governance of protected areas specifically for indigenous areas.

  • Generate specific projects tending to comply with the ends previously mentioned.
